2025 BMW M4 CS debuts with improved design and performance
The highly anticipated 2025 BMW M4 CS has been unveiled, showcasing enhanced power, reduced weight, and exceptional speed. This latest addition fits perfectly into the BMW lineup, and is positioned between the Competition as well as CSL models. It features a twin-turbocharged inline-six engine with a 543hp tune, which is identical to that of the M3 CS car.
Performance and transmission
The M4 CS delivers a maximum torque of 649.4Nm, channeled to the road via BMW's M xDrive all-wheel-drive system. This model is exclusively equipped with an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. When tested, it demonstrated an ability to accelerate to 97km/h in just 3.2 seconds, with a top speed capped at 303km/h, mirroring the performance of the M3 CS.
Weight reduction and material usage
The M4 CS is lighter than its predecessor, with BMW reporting a weight reduction of 20kg compared to the M4 Competition. This has been achieved through extensive use of carbon fiber reinforced plastic, in various body panels including the bonnet, front splitter, and rear diffuser. The interior also incorporates lightweight materials for the center console, paddle shifters, and various trim pieces made from carbon fiber.
Unique chassis and suspension
The M4 CS's chassis and suspension tuning are unique to this model, resulting in a nimble coupe that handles corners effortlessly. Despite not surpassing the CSL around the Nürburgring, it comes incredibly close with an official time of seven minutes 21.99 seconds, approximately 1.5 seconds slower than the CSL. BMW offers either track or "ultra-track" tires at no extra cost for buyers seeking to enhance their racecourse experience.
Pricing and availability
The M4 CS sports a unique black cabin with red trim, upholstered in leather and Alcantara. At launch, exterior colors are limited to Riviera Blue and Frozen Isle of Man Green. Despite the weight reduction, the price of the M4 CS remains unchanged. The starting price is $124,675 (around ₹1.04 crore)—a $35,200 (roughly ₹29.4 lakh) premium over the M4 Competition xDrive. Production is set to commence in July, with deliveries expected later this year.
