2024 Maruti Swift revealed in latest spy shots: Check features
Maruti Suzuki's much-awaited fourth-generation Swift hatchback is poised for its launch in India soon. In the latest development, RushLane has shared fresh spy shots of the upcoming model. Known for its popularity in the entry-level segment, the 2024 Swift will promise an upgraded driving experience. The enhancements include aesthetic upgrades, premium features, and a new Z Series 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder engine. Despite the growing trend of SUVs, cars like the Swift continue to maintain the allure of the hatchback segment.
Aesthetic upgrades for the upcoming Swift
The 2024 Maruti Swift will retain its iconic design while integrating several aesthetic improvements. The front fascia will feature updated lighting elements, a significantly larger grille, and a sportier lower bumper. The side view has been revamped with new alloy wheels, likely to be 15-inch units. A significant change is the shift from C-pillar mounted door handles to regular rear door handles.
Rear design and dimensional changes
The rear of the 2024 Maruti Swift has been updated with new tail lights, a redesigned bumper, and a more pronounced roof spoiler. The positioning of the reflectors has also been altered. The new model will be dimensionally longer by 15mm compared to its predecessor, potentially with minor changes in width and height. However, it retains the 2,450mm wheelbase of the 3rd-generation model. The latest modifications are not expected to significantly impact the car's road presence or interior space.
Interior revamp and infotainment upgrade
The interior of the 2024 Maruti Swift has been redesigned with a new dashboard and climate control panel. The most significant update is the introduction of a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, enabling seamless smartphone integration. Components such as the steering wheel and instrument cluster remain unchanged from the previous model.
New engine and potential fuel efficiency
The fourth-generation Swift will be equipped with a new Z Series 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder engine with a 12V mild-hybrid setup. This new engine could potentially make the fourth generation Swift more fuel-efficient than its predecessor, which uses a K series dual jet, dual VVT petrol engine. The 2024 model will continue to compete with models like the Tata Tiago and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios in the hatchback market.
