Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the fourth iteration of its popular Swift hatchback in India on May 9. The updated Swift has already gained popularity in international markets such as Japan. Now it's ready to compete with rivals like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago on Indian terrain. While the bookings for the new Swift are live, its pricing details will be revealed tomorrow at a launch event scheduled in Delhi.

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be available in three main variants: LXi, VXi, and ZXi. Leaked documents suggest the introduction of a new variant named VXI(O) with the upcoming Swift. The premium ZXi variant will also feature a ZXi+ version, touted as the most feature-packed version of this hatchback model.

The new Swift's aesthetics have been significantly revamped, retaining most elements from the model launched in Japan. Changes include an all-black treatment for the grill and modifications to the LED headlight and DRL designs. The hatchback's silhouette remains similar, but with alterations to the taillight at the rear and an upgrade to the alloy wheel design.
Advanced features of the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift
The 2024 Swift comes with a host of new features including a fresh 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an updated digital instrument cluster, and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The high-end versions will sport a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and may also include a 360-degree camera, Head-up Display, wireless charging, and AC vents for rear passengers.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Engine and performance details
The most significant change in the new Swift is a fresh 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine replacing the older unit. This mild-hybrid unit is expected to be offered with a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT gearbox options. The engine can generate 80hp of maximum power and 112Nm of peak torque, promising to offer a mileage of 25.72km/l.
