What to expect from 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire in India
The third-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire, an Indian market staple for nearly seven years, is set to receive a significant upgrade later this year. Drawing inspiration from the all-new Swift debuting next month, the compact sedan will feature a unique design and advanced features. The launch of the revamped Dzire here is scheduled for the latter half of 2024.
Distinct design elements to set Dzire apart
The upcoming Dzire model will sport a design distinct from the Swift. The India-specific Swift will have slightly different styling from the global-spec model, but the Dzire is tipped to stand out even more. Unique features may include a new rear end, distinctive bumpers, alloy wheels, and possibly different headlamps. Despite sharing several sheet metal parts with Swift, each model will maintain its unique identity.
Advanced features and new engine
Maruti Suzuki plans to equip the Dzire with more features than Swift. The dashboard from the Swift will be incorporated into the Dzire, with additional features such as a segment-first single-pane sunroof and a 360-degree camera. The current K Series 1.2-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine will be replaced by a new Z Series 1.2-liter three-cylinder mill, focusing on emissions, efficiency, and output for Indian conditions.
Dzire's launch and market competition
The debut of the Dzire is expected to follow three to six months after the Swift, likely around the festive season. The Dzire will continue to compete with models like the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor. However, given its significant updates, a price increase is anticipated. Meanwhile, certain Maruti Suzuki dealerships have already begun unofficial bookings for the new-generation Swift.
