Kia Carnival (facelift) set for late 2024 launch in India
Kia Motors is planning to launch the new Carnival MPV in the Indian market later this year. The upcoming model is anticipated to be more premium and feature-rich than its predecessor. This news follows the recent introduction of the Sonet (facelift) by Kia in India. The fourth-generation Carnival, also known as the KA4 concept, was previously displayed at Auto Expo 2023 and has been seen undergoing testing in India.
Significant design changes
Kia has officially released exterior images of the facelifted Carnival, revealing major design alterations. The new model features a large Tiger Nose grille with chrome accents, vertically-positioned LED headlights, and inverted L-shaped LED DRLs. Additionally, the MPV comes with black-colored cladding at the front bumper, equipped with radar for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Enhanced exterior features
The side profile of the new Carnival boasts large windows, sliding rear doors with request sensors, newly designed alloy rims, roof rails, and side steps. The rear profile includes a large windscreen, an integrated rear spoiler, inverted L-shaped taillights, reverse lamps, and reflectors on both ends. Additionally, a rear wiper is neatly tucked under the spoiler for added functionality.
Luxurious interior expected
The interior of the new Carnival is expected to be high-end, featuring soft-touch door pads and a dashboard. The new model is anticipated to include a dual-screen setup comprising a touchscreen infotainment panel and a digital instrument cluster. These features aim to enhance the overall driving experience by providing easy access to vehicle information and entertainment options.
Engine specifications of the upcoming Kia Carnival
Internationally, the Kia Carnival is powered by either a 2.2-liter diesel engine or a 3.5-liter V6 petrol mill. However, it is tipped that the new model in India will continue to be driven by a 2.2-liter diesel engine that delivers peak power of 200hp and maximum torque of 440Nm. The upcoming model might only be offered with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
