2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6 revealed with 610km range: Check features
Hyundai has revealed the 2024 IONIQ 6 for the global market and has dubbed it as an 'electrified streamliner.' The EV boasts a WLTP-rated maximum range of 610km. As for highlights, the sedan features an arched-shaped body, a tech-forward cabin, and is underpinned by the brand's E-GMP architecture. The South Korean automaker offers the EV with 12 color options to choose from.
Why does this story matter?
Hyundai currently holds the second spot in the EV segment of the US car market. The brand plans to steal the crown from Tesla with its capable IONIQ range of vehicles. The new IONIQ 6 sits above the IONIQ 5, which won the "World Car of the Year" award for 2022. Hyundai's 'electrified streamliner' rivals Tesla Model 3.
The sedan sports an arched beltline and all-LED lighting setup
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 resembles the Prophecy concept in terms of design. It flaunts a sloping roofline, a muscular hood, a sleek black grille-like element, a wide air dam, and swept-back LED headlights. On the sides, the EV has black pillars, an arched beltline, cameras in place of ORVMs, and designer alloy wheels. Connected LED taillights and a shark-fin antenna grace the rear end.
It is offered with two battery pack options
The 2024 IONIQ 6 is offered with either a 53kWh or a larger 77.4kWh battery pack option, linked to a standard single motor or an optional dual motor setup. The car delivers a maximum range of 610km on a single charge on the WLTP cycle.
The EV features 64-color ambient lighting and seven airbags
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 features a spacious five-seater cabin with a minimalist dashboard, automatic climate control, 64-color ambient lighting, a head-up display, optional "Relaxation Comfort" front seats, and a multifunctional steering wheel. The EV houses two 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment panel with support for the latest connectivity options. Passengers' safety is ensured by seven airbags and ADAS functions.
Hyundai IONIQ 6: Pricing and availability
The details regarding the pricing and availability of the IONIQ 6 should be declared by Hyundai at the time of launch. We expect the EV to carry a starting price tag of around $40,000 (approximately Rs. 32 lakh) in the US.
