What to expect from 2024 Hyundai Alcazar in India
Hyundai is preparing to unveil the revamped version of its Alcazar SUV in India by mid-2024. This announcement comes on the heels of the successful launch of the Creta (facelift), which has already received over one million reservations. The Alcazar, a three-row SUV first introduced in 2021, has been spotted undergoing tests on Indian roads multiple times, indicating that the facelift process is well underway.
Anticipated design changes
The forthcoming Alcazar is expected to feature aesthetic enhancements over its predecessor, drawing design inspiration from the new Creta. However, certain modifications will be made to maintain the SUV's unique character. The anticipated exterior changes include a redesigned front fascia with new headlamps and LED DRLs, a changed bumper, a new set of alloy rims on the sides, and a connected taillight setup at the rear.
Interior updates and features
The interior of the updated Alcazar will also undergo changes. The new dashboard from the Creta, could be integrated into the refreshed Alcazar, alongside new features such as an ADAS suite, a dual-zone climate control system, dual 10.25-inch screens, ventilated seats, and a panoramic sunroof. The color scheme and upholstery will be updated for a fresh look, while maintaining the current cabin space and seating arrangement.
Mechanical consistency and expected price hike
Mechanically, the new Hyundai Alcazar will remain consistent with its predecessor. It will continue to run on a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engine that generates 115hp/250Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Additionally, a 1.5-liter tGDi petrol mill producing 158hp and 253Nm, will also be part of the offering. The launch of the revamped Alcazar is likely to be accompanied by a minor price increase.
