2024 Honda City Hatchback revealed: Check what's new
Honda has introduced the 2024 model of its City Hatchback in Malaysia. It is priced at RM85,900 (approximately ₹15.24 lakh). The facelifted car includes a petrol RS trim and comes standard with the Honda Sensing safety suite. This launch follows the updated City sedan's debut in Malaysia in August last year. The City Hatchback is available in five trims: S, E, V, RS and e: HEV RS hybrid.
New features and variants of 2024 Honda City Hatchback
The new petrol RS variant replaces the previous 1.5L V-Sensing model in the lineup. The exterior has been enhanced with a larger grille featuring a new mesh insert design and a slimmer chrome bar at the top. Depending on the variant, changes to the bumper include RS variants showcasing a honeycomb mesh for the lower intake and new faux air inlets on the sides.
Wheel and dimension specifications of 2024 Honda City Hatchback
Wheel size varies across the hatchback's variants. S and E models come with 15-inch alloy wheels fitted with 185/60 profile tires, while V, RS and e: HEV RS hybrid sport 16-inch alloy wheels shod with 185/55 tires. Non-RS models measure 4,350mm in length, 1,748mm in width and 1,488mm in height. However, RS models are slightly longer at 4,369mm due to variant-specific bumpers. Boot space remains consistent at 289-liter but can be expanded to 841-liter with the rear seats folded down.
Safety and premium features of 2024 Honda City Hatchback
The 2024 Honda City Hatchback now includes the Honda Sensing suite as standard across all variants, enhancing passenger safety with six airbags and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The top-spec RS hybrid variant also comes with an electronic parking brake. The hatchback continues to offer premium features such as leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob, rear AC vents, a 7-inch TFT instrument display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Honda Connect services.
Powertrain options for 2024 Honda City Hatchback
The 2024 Honda City Hatchback retains its existing powertrain options. Petrol variants are powered by a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four DOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 121hp and 145Nm of torque, paired with a CVT gearbox. The e:HEV variant combines a 1.5-liter petrol motor with a 109hp electric motor. The petrol engine offers 98hp and 127Nm of torque. This hybrid variant is equipped with an automatic e-CVT gearbox.
