As for the highlights, the car will have a refreshed design and an upgraded cabin with a bevy of new features. It will be offered with a choice of new and updated turbocharged engines.
Why does this story matter?
The BMW X5 was introduced in 2018 and has sold over two lakh units across the world. By giving it a facelift, the brand wants to raise the car's appeal in the market. The new version of the vehicle is expected to offer better looks, features, and performance. Upon its arrival in India, the competition in the premium SUV segment will certainly be raised.
The car will have sleek headlamps and roof rails
The 2023 BMW X5 is expected to sport a sculpted hood, a wider kidney grille, sleeker and longer LED headlights with DRLs, and large air vents. On the sides, it will be flanked by roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, and designer alloy wheels. A shark-fin antenna, a window wiper, and wrap-around LED taillamps will grace the rear end of the four-wheeler.
Three engine options will be available
The upcoming BMW X5 will be fueled by an S68, twin-turbo, V8 engine with mild-hybrid technology that should make around 535hp of power and an upgraded 370hp, B58 turbocharged straight-six mill. An updated B57, inline-six, turbo-diesel unit will be offered, too.
The SUV will get a head-up display and sunroof
The new BMW X5 should have a luxurious 5-seater cabin, featuring auto climate control, a head-up display, parking sensors, a sunroof, and a multifunctional power steering wheel with cruise control. It will pack a touchscreen infotainment console with support for Apple CarPlay. The safety of the passengers will be ensured by six airbags, ABS, traction control, cornering brake control, and a rear-view camera.

The pricing and availability details of the facelifted BMW X5 in India will be disclosed at the time of its launch. However, it should carry a premium over the outgoing model, which starts at Rs. 76.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
