#EndOfAnEra: Aston Martin reveals last V12-powered Vantage sports car
British automaker Aston Martin has unveiled the latest and last edition of its V12 Vantage. Only 333 units of the car will be available globally and the bookings are already closed "due to unprecedented demand." The new V12 Vantage comes with extensive chassis revisions, a larger grille, a much better power-to-weight ratio than the V8 Vantage, and more downforce than before.
Why does this story matter?
Aston Martin has begun phasing out its legendary V12 engine for more emission-friendly engines. As a fitting swansong, it has arrived with one last V12-powered Vantage. The new Vantage is a performance-oriented car with every little detail meant to increase downforce, reduce weight, and provide more stability at higher speeds. The limited production also adds to its exclusivity around the globe.
The car has carbon fiber detailing and large rear wing
The new Aston Martin V12 Vantage has a muscular hood, a unique horizontally-slatted front grille, carbon fiber detailing, a large horseshoe vent, and a new splitter element below the grille. It is flanked by sharp body lines, sleek ORVMs, and 21-inch alloy wheels. The rear end is graced by a large wing, a full-width taillight, a diffuser, and dual exhaust tips.
A 700hp, 5.2-liter engine powers the car
The 2023 Aston Martin V12 Vantage is powered by a 5.2-liter, twin-turbocharged V12 engine that generates 700hp/753Nm. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The car can sprint from 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds.
It has an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment panel
The 2023 Aston Martin V12 Vantage features a 2-seater cockpit with Alcantara upholstery, Sport Plus seats with semi-aniline leather or performance-oriented seats with carbon fiber, and dual-zone climate control. It packs an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Aston Martin Premium Audio system. For passengers' safety, it has a 360-degree-view camera, blind spot detection, multiple airbags, and autonomous parking.
2023 Aston Martin V12 Vantage: Pricing and availability
Aston Martin is yet to disclose the official pricing of the new V12 Vantage. However, we expect it to start at around $300,000 (roughly Rs. 2.28 crore) in the US. Deliveries of the coupe will begin later this year.
