2022 Toyota Glanza's new teaser shows off Camry-like front design
Toyota will launch the 2022 Glanza hatchback in India on March 15. It will be available in E, G, S, and V trims. Ahead of the launch, the company has released another teaser video of the car, showcasing its Camry-like fascia. The teaser has also revealed that the manual and AMT variants will return a fuel economy of 22.3km/l and 22.9km/l, respectively.
Why does this story matter?
We know that the upcoming Glanza will be a rebranded version of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Therefore, every teaser of the former has become a way for people to find out what are the differences and similarities between both. The new teaser gives us, for the first time, a better look at the car's front design, and it looks more like the Camry.
The car will run on 16-inch alloy wheels
The 2022 Toyota Glanza will feature a muscular hood, a Camry-like grille and bumper, sleek LED headlights with DRLs, and a wide air dam. On the sides, it will have blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, and 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear end will be graced by a roof-mounted antenna and LED taillamps. It will be available in Blue, Gray, Red, Silver, and White shades.
A 90hp, 1.2-liter engine will power the car
The facelifted Toyota Glanza will be powered by a 1.2-liter, DualJet petrol mill that churns out 90hp/113Nm. The engine will be mated either to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
The hatchback will have a black and beige color scheme
The new Toyota Glanza will feature a 5-seater cabin with a dual-tone black and beige color scheme, a multifunctional flat-bottom steering wheel, automatic climate control, and a head-up display. It will pack a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for connected car tech and Arkamys-tuned sound system. For the safety of passengers, the car will have six airbags and a 360-degree-view-camera.
2022 Toyota Glanza: Pricing and availability
Toyota will disclose the official pricing and availability details of the 2022 Glanza at the time of its launch on March 15. It should, however, carry a premium over the outgoing model that starts at Rs. 7.7 lakh (ex-showroom).
