2022 Toyota Glanza launched in India at Rs. 6.4 lakh
Japanese automaker Toyota has launched its 2022 Glanza hatchback in India. It is available in four variants, namely E, S, G, and V. As for the highlights, the car has a revised look and an upmarket cabin with a bevy of features. It draws power from a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder, dual VVT petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 89hp.
Why does this story matter?
The 2022 Toyota Glanza is a rebranded version of the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno. However, the former sports distinct exterior and interior cues to differentiate itself. The hatchback has been priced competitively in our market and should attract a lot of customers. It goes against rivals such as the Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo, and the Tata Altroz.
The hatchback sports projector headlights and alloy wheels
The 2022 Toyota Glanza has a sculpted bonnet, a chrome-lined mono-slat grille, revised bumpers, and projector LED headlights with L-shaped LED DRLs. It also gets glossy paintwork. On the sides, it is flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. A roof-mounted antenna, a window wiper, and split-style LED taillights grace the rear end of the four-wheeler.
It delivers a fuel-efficiency of 22.9km/liter
The Toyota Glanza is fueled by a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder, dual VVT petrol engine that makes 89hp/113Nm. The mill is mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. It promises a mileage of 22.9km/liter (using the AMT unit).
The car gets a 9.0-inch infotainment panel and six airbags
The new Toyota Glanza has a refreshed cabin with a dual-tone dashboard, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, a head-up display, an Arkamys-sourced audio system, and a height-adjustable driver's seat. It houses a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Six airbags, rear parking sensors, a 360-degree-view camera, electronic stability program, ABS, and a speed-alert system, ensure the passengers' safety.
2022 Toyota Glanza: Pricing
In India, the 2022 iteration of the Toyota Glanza hatchback starts at Rs. 6.39 lakh for the base E MT model and goes up to Rs. 9.69 lakh for the range-topping V AMT variant (all prices, ex-showroom).
