2022 Range Rover Sport found testing; design elements revealed
Jaguar Land Rover is expected to unveil the 2022 iteration of its Range Rover Sport SUV later this year. In the latest development, a camouflaged test mule of the four-wheeler has been spied on a test, revealing important design elements. The photos suggest that it will sport a revised front bumper, tweaked LED headlamps, and flush-fitting door handles, among other highlights.
Why does this story matter?
The 2022 version of the Range Rover Sport will offer better looks and more features as compared to the outgoing model. It should attract a lot of buyers in the overseas markets. When the car makes its way to our shores, it would arrive as a completely built unit (CBU). The competition in the luxury SUV segment will be raised significantly.
The car will have LED headlights and chunky cladding
The 2022 Range Rover Sport will have a rounded-off hood, vents in the front fenders, a new front bumper with vertically-positioned air intakes, and LED headlights. It will be flanked by ORVMs, retractable/flush-fitted door handles, chunky cladding, and multi-spoke alloy wheels. A shark-fin antenna, a number plate recess on the bumper, and LED taillights will be available on the rear end of the vehicle.
Multiple powertrain options might be available
Range Rover Sport is expected to run on a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder engine as well as a 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 mill. Plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains also seem likely at the moment.
The SUV will get vertical AC vents and multiple airbags
The new Range Rover Sport will have a luxurious cabin, featuring vertical AC vents, a revised dashboard, and a four-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. It will house a digital instrument cluster and an 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment panel with support for the latest connectivity facilities. The passenger's safety will be ensured by multiple airbags, a rear-view camera, ABS, and EBD.
2022 Range Rover Sport: Pricing
Land Rover will disclose the pricing and availability details of the 2022 Range Rover Sport in India at the time of its arrival. However, the SUV is likely to sport a price tag of around Rs. 92 lakh (ex-showroom).
