2022 MG ZS EV's key features revealed: Check here
British automaker MG Motor is gearing up to introduce the facelifted version of its ZS EV in India by the end of this month. In the latest development, the company has revealed more details of the SUV by sharing pictures of the updated cabin. MG Motor has also announced that the four-wheeler will be rolled out from the company's production facility in Halol, Gujarat.
Why does this story matter?
The growing EV segment in India is a pie every automaker wants a share of. The 2022 ZS EV, with a more crisp look on the outside, a comfortable cabin, and a better range, is MG's attempt at capturing a bigger piece of that pie. The competition is bound to increase when it takes on the Tata Nexon EV and KONA Electric.
The car will sport a body-colored covered front grille
The 2022 ZS EV will sport a sculpted hood, a covered grille with textured pattern, a charging socket to the left of the MG logo, a redesigned front bumper, and sleek headlights. On the sides, it will have blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, roof rails, and 17-inch designer alloy wheels. The rear section will be graced by wrap-around taillamps and a window wiper.
It could offer a range of around 480km
The 2022 MG ZS EV will reportedly be powered by an electric motor linked to a 51kWh battery pack that is expected to offer a range of around 480km on a single charge. The company is yet to reveal the powertrain details of the SUV.
It will offer Advanced Driver Assistance System features
The 2022 MG ZS EV will have a 5-seater cabin, featuring rear seats with headrests, center armrests with individual cupholders, rear AC vents, and a panoramic sunroof. It will house a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For passengers' safety, it will have ADAS features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Detection.
2022 MG ZS EV: Pricing and availability
The official pricing and availability details of the 2022 MG ZS EV will be announced at the time of its launch sometime this month. However, it is expected to carry a premium over the current model, which starts at Rs. 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
