2022 MG ZS EV to get 75+ connected car features
MG Motor has announced that the 2022 ZS EV SUV will be offered in India with a new i-SMART user interface. It has been borrowed from the Astor and offers over 75 features. The i-SMART stack delivers in-car services from companies such as Jio, MapmyIndia, Park+, and Shortpedia. It also offers support for voice recognition using over 100 commands.
Why does this story matter?
The new user interface for the 2022 MG ZS EV doubles down on the brand's car as a platform philosophy. It offers more features than the Kia Connect. The new ZS EV is expected to be priced competitively and will raise the competition in the electric four-wheeler segment. It will rival the likes of Tata Nexon EV and Hyundai KONA Electric.
A detailed look at the features
MapmyIndia promises online navigation and live traffic updates, while Park+ users can pre-book/pay for parking slots before arriving at the destination. JioSaavn streaming platform, English and Hindi news from Shortpedia, a Bluetooth digital key, remote unlocking of the car, and live location sharing are also part of the package. An MG Pulse hub with 24x7 assistance and charging level tracking are available as well.
The car will be offered in 4 colors
The 2022 MG ZS EV will sport a muscular bonnet, a refreshed front bumper, a body-colored grille with a textured pattern, a charging socket, and swept-back headlamps. On the sides, it will be flanked by roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and redesigned 17-inch alloy wheels. The car will be up for grabs in four shades: Gray, Red, Black, and White.
It will travel for around 480km per charge
The new MG ZS EV will pack an electric motor linked to a 51kWh battery pack. The power figures are yet to be revealed but the car is tipped to deliver a range of around 480km on a single charge.
The four-wheeler will get a panoramic sunroof and 5 seats
The upcoming MG ZS EV will have a spacious 5-seater cabin, featuring armrests with individual cup holders, rear AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, and rear seats with adjustable headrests. Multiple airbags, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keep Assist will ensure the safety of the passengers. The SUV will also pack a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
