2022 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R launched at Rs. 5.4 lakh
Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2022 version of its Wagon R hatchback in India. It is offered in four trim levels, namely LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+. As for the highlights, the car has a refreshed design and a spacious cabin with lots of safety features. It is available with a choice of two BS6-compliant petrol engines that also run on CNG.

In 2021, the WagonR was Maruti Suzuki's bestselling car in India. By giving it a facelift, the company wants to raise the hatchback's appeal in the market. The car offers better looks, an enhanced driving experience, and more mileage as compared to the outgoing model. It takes on rivals such as the Tata Tiago and the Hyundai Santro.
The car has a black roof and alloy wheels
The new Maruti Suzuki Wagon R has a floating roof design, featuring a sculpted hood, a chrome-lined grille, a wide air vent, large swept-back headlamps, and fog lights. It is flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and multi-spoke alloy wheels. Vertically-positioned taillights and a window wiper grace the rear. It is offered in Gallant Red and Magma Gray shades, coupled with a black roof.
Two petrol engine options are available
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R gets a 1.0-liter, K-Series, dual-jet, dual VVT, petrol engine offered in two tunes: 66hp/89Nm and 66hp/82.1Nm (in CNG guise). A 1.2-liter petrol mill that puts out 89hp/113Nm is also available. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox.
The four-wheeler gets two airbags and dual-tone upholstery
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R has a spacious cabin with dual-tone premium beige and dark gray melange upholstery and a multifunctional steering wheel. It houses a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with support for cloud-based services. The safety of the passengers is ensured by dual airbags, hill-hold assist, a high-speed alert system, ABS, EBD, and rear parking sensors.

In India, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R starts at Rs. 5.4 lakh for the base LXI model and goes up to Rs. 7.1 lakh for the range-topping 1.2 ZXI+ AGS Dual Tone (Option) variant (all prices, ex-showroom).
