2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno to be offered in four trims
Maruti Suzuki might launch the 2022 Baleno hatchback in India on February 10. It will be offered in Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha variants. While all the trims will get a 5-speed manual gearbox, only the latter three will also be available with an AMT unit. The four-wheeler will have a revised look, some new-age features, and will be offered with two engine options.
Why does this story matter?
Since its launch in India in 2015, more than 10 lakh units of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno have been sold here. Currently, it is the bestselling hatchback on our shores. It had also received an update in 2019. The new model will receive several changes that will make it even more appealing in the market. It will rival the Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20.
The car will be offered in six color options
The new Baleno will have a wide grille, swept-back LED headlamps, a redesigned front bumper, and fog lamps. It will be flanked by ORVMs, blacked-out B-pillars, and alloy wheels. Wrap-around LED taillamps, a shark-fin antenna, and an integrated spoiler will grace the rear. It will be available in Grandeur Gray, Opulent Red, Celestial Blue, Luxe Beige, Pearl Arctic White, and Splendid Silver shades.
There will be a choice of two petrol engines
The 2022 Baleno might be fueled by a 1.2-liter DualJet Dual VVT petrol engine that makes 89hp/113Nm and a 1.2-liter VVT petrol motor that generates 82hp/113Nm. The mills will be linked to a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
The four-wheeler will get a flat-bottom steering and six airbags
The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno will have a 5-seater cabin with a head-up display, a flat-bottom multifunctional steering wheel, repositioned AC vents, and a revamped dashboard. The hatchback will pack a 'free-standing' touchscreen infotainment console with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Suzuki Connect. An engine immobilizer, six airbags, and Electronic Stability Program will ensure the safety of the passengers.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Pricing
In India, the 2022 version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno should carry a premium over the outgoing model which starts at Rs. 6.14 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It can be booked by paying a token amount of Rs. 11,000.
