2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno's debut on February 23; features teased
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the 2022 Baleno hatchback in India on February 23. The car will arrive with some of the biggest updates since its debut in 2015. The upcoming version of the four-wheeler will boast a slew of tech-based features including a new touchscreen console, wireless smartphone connectivity, a head-up display, and a 360-degree-view camera.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been the bestselling hatchback in India since its launch in 2015. However, it has always left buyers wanting more when it came to tech-oriented features. From what we know so far about the 2022 Baleno, the company aims to rectify that. It will be pitted against the likes of Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20.
The car will have a redesigned front bumper
The 2022 Baleno will feature a muscular hood, a wide mesh grille, swept-back LED projector lamps, and a redesigned front bumper. It will be flanked by ORVMs, blacked-out B-pillars, and alloy wheels. The rear will be graced by wrap-around taillights and an integrated spoiler. It will be offered in Grandeur Gray, Opulent Red, Lux Beige, Celestial Blue, Pearl Arctic White, and Splendid Silver shades.
It will come with two gearbox choices
The 2022 Baleno will likely be fueled by a 1.2-liter DualJet Dual VVT mild-hybrid petrol engine that generates 90hp/113Nm and a 1.2-liter DualJet Dual VVT petrol motor that makes 83hp/113Nm. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
The hatchback will have a 9.0-inch infotainment console
The 2022 Baleno will feature a 5-seater cabin with a head-up display: a segment-first feature. It will have repositioned AC vents, a flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel, and a revamped dashboard. A new 9.0-inch "free-standing" touchscreen infotainment console with support for wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto will also be available. For passenger's safety, the hatchback will have six airbags and a 360-degree-view camera.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Pricing and availability
The official pricing and availability details of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be announced at the time of its launch on February 23. However, we expect it to carry a premium over the outgoing model, which starts at Rs. 6.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
