Hyundai has revealed the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant of its 2022 Tucson SUV. It will be up for grabs in the US this summer. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV has an eye-catching design, featuring a muscular bonnet, a cascading grille, sleek LED headlights, a wide air dam, and a silvered skid plate. It is flanked by roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, chrome garnish around the windows, indicator-mounted ORVMs, sharp body lines, and designer alloy wheels. A full-width taillight and 'TUCSON' lettering are present on the rear end.
The vehicle has a tech-loaded 5-seater cabin
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV has a spacious cabin with a sunroof, heated front seats, auto climate control, and a multifunctional steering wheel with cruise control. It houses an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment console with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An optional 10.3-inch screen with built-in navigation is also available. For safety, multiple airbags, automated emergency braking, and lane-departure warning are being offered.
It runs on a 261hp, 1.6-liter engine
The 2022 Tucson PHEV draws power from a 261hp, 1.6-liter turbocharged engine linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system with a dedicated Snow mode. The mill is connected to a 13.8kWh battery pack that delivers an electric-only range of 51.5km on a full charge. The car supports Level 2 charging of up to 7.2kW and is engineered for at-home overnight charging.

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV will arrive in the US this summer and should carry a price-tag of around $35,000 (approximately Rs. 25.4 lakh). At this price-point, it will go against the Toyota RAV4 Prime.
