2022 Honda Lead 125, with cosmetic changes, goes official
Japanese automaker Honda has launched the 2022 version of the Lead 125 scooter in its home country. It is unclear whether it will be introduced in India. As for the highlights, the two-wheeler has a sporty look and gets a semi-digital instrument cluster as well as a Type-C charging port. It runs on a 124cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 10.8hp of power.
Why does this story matter?
The 2022 Honda Lead 125 offers better looks and improved mechanicals as compared to its predecessor. It will be up for grabs in Japan from March 24 onward and should rack up decent sales there. If the vehicle makes its way to our shores, the competition in the 125cc scooter segment will be raised to a great extent.
The scooter is offered in four color options
Honda Lead 125 has an indicator-mounted front apron, a flat footboard, a stepped-up single-piece seat, and a side-mounted exhaust. The scooter packs a semi-digital instrument cluster, an LED headlamp, a Type-C charging port, and a cubby hole with a bottle holder. It is available in Matte Techno Silver Metallic, Pearl Dark Ash Blue 2, Poseidon Black Metallic, and Pearl Jasmine White shades.
It is fueled by an 11hp, 124cc engine
The new Honda Lead 125 draws power from a 124cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 10.8hp and a peak torque of 12Nm. The vehicle also gets an ACG starter motor and an idle stop-start system.
It gets a front disc brake
To ensure the safety of the rider, the 2022 Honda Lead 125 is equipped with a disc brake on the front side and a drum brake on the rear wheel. It might also get ABS. Meanwhile, the suspension duties on the scooter are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front end and a mono-shock unit on the rear side.
