2022 Honda Africa Twin launched at Rs. 16 lakh
Japanese automaker Honda has launched its 2022 Africa Twin Adventure Sports motorcycle in India. It starts at Rs. 16.01 lakh. The bike arrives in India as a CKD (Completely Knock Down) model and is available in two variants - DCT automatic model in 'Mat Ballistic Metallic' color and manual variant in 'Pearl Glare White Tricolor.' Bookings for the adventure bike are underway.
Why does this story matter?
The love for adventure motorcycles has been on the rise in India in the last few years. Honda plans to take advantage of that growing sentiment by adding the facelifted Africa Twin Adventure Sports to its portfolio in the country. In typical Honda fashion, the 2022 version of the bike does not have any significant changes when compared to the 2021 model.
The bike now supports Android Auto
The 2022 Honda Africa Twin has an off-road-friendly design, featuring an adjustable windscreen, a sloping fuel tank, a big bash plate, an adjustable seat, and dual-LED headlights with DRLs as well as cornering lights. It packs a 6.5-inch touchscreen instrument panel with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The bike is offered in Pearl Glare White Tricolor and Mat Ballistic Black Metallic shades.
It runs on a 98hp, 1,083cc engine
The new Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports is powered by a 1,083cc parallel-twin, OHC, liquid-cooled engine that comes linked to a manual or DCT gearbox. The mill churns out a maximum power of 98hp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 103Nm at 6,000rpm.
The motorcycle gets four riding modes
The 2022 Honda Africa Twin is equipped with disc brakes on both front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS, Honda Selectable Torque Control, and six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit. It also has four default riding modes (Tour, Urban, Gravel, and Off-Road) and two customizable modes. Suspension duties are handled by inverted telescopic forks on the front and a pro-link mono-shock unit on the rear.
2022 Honda Africa Twin: Pricing and availability
