2022 BMW X4 SUV to launch in India this March
German automaker BMW is expected to launch the facelifted version of its X4 SUV in India by the first week of March. As for the highlights, the car will have a refreshed design and an updated cabin loaded with a bevy of tech-based features. It should be offered with an option of BS6-compliant petrol as well as diesel engines.
Why does this story matter?
The BMW X4 has been up for grabs in India for quite some time, and the new model is likely to offer better looks and more features. The 2022 version of the SUV is expected to be priced competitively on our shores and will raise the competition in the market. It will take on rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.
The car will have adaptive headlamps and 19-inch wheels
The 2022 BMW X4 will have a sloping roofline, a large kidney grille, redesigned bumpers, and sharp-looking adaptive LED headlights. It will be flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, sharp body lines, and 19-inch alloy wheels. A raked windscreen and wrap-around taillights will grace the rear section. It might also get new shades such as Brooklyn Gray, Black Sapphire, and Mineral White.
Two engine choices may be offered
In India, the BMW X4 might run on a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, twin-turbo petrol engine that makes 248hp/350Nm and a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder diesel motor that generates 282hp/650Nm. Transmission duties will be taken care of by an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic gearbox.
The SUV will get a head-up display and ambient lighting
BMW X4 will have a premium cabin with Vernasca or Sensatec upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, three-zone temperature control, a head-up display, and a multifunctional steering wheel. It will pack a Harman Kardon sound system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Multiple airbags, a 360-degree-view camera, traction control, and electronic stability control will ensure the passengers' safety.
2022 BMW X4: Pricing and availability
BMW will disclose the pricing and availability details of the facelifted X4 in India at the time of its launch. However, it should carry a premium over the outgoing model, which begins at Rs. 67.5 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
