Yamaha launches 2021 FZ-FI and FZS-FI motorbikes in India
Japanese automaker Yamaha has launched the 2021 iterations of its FZ-FI and FZS-FI motorcycles in India. As for the highlights, the bikes have a sporty look, a digital instrument console, and an LED headlight. A new side-stand engine cut-off function is also available. They are powered by a BS6-compliant 149cc, fuel-injected engine linked to a 5-speed gearbox. Here's our roundup.
2021 Yamaha FZ-FI, FZS-FI: At a glance
The 2021 Yamaha FZ-FI and FZS-FI feature a sloping fuel tank with angular extensions, a stepped-up single-piece seat, and an upswept exhaust. They pack a digital instrument console, an LED headlight, and ride on designer blacked-out alloy wheels. The FZS-FI also comes with Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X Bluetooth technology, a new Matte Red paintwork, and a 3D emblem.
Power and performance
The 2021 Yamaha FZ-FI and FZS-FI draw power from a BS6-compliant 149cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The mill generates a maximum power of 12.2hp and a peak torque of 13.6Nm.
Safety and suspension setup
To ensure the rider's safety, the 2021 Yamaha FZ-FI and FZS-FI are equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels along with single-channel ABS for improved handling on the roads. The suspension duties on the bikes are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front side and a 7-step adjustable mono-cross unit on the rear end.

In India, the 2021 Yamaha FZ-FI carries a starting price-tag of Rs. 1,03,700 while the FZS-FI begins at Rs. 1,07,200 (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). At this price-point, the tourers take on rivals like Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
