2021 Triumph Scrambler 1200 motorbike, with Euro 5 engine, unveiled
British automaker Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled its 2021 Scrambler 1200 model. It is offered in three variants: XC, XE, and the limited-run Steve McQueen Edition. As for the highlights, the premium two-wheeler has a sporty look and comes with a host of electronic riding aids. It draws power from a Euro 5-compliant 1,200cc liquid-cooled engine linked to a 6-speed gearbox. Here are more details.
The bike has an all-LED lighting setup
The 2021 Triumph Scrambler 1200 has an eye-catching design, featuring a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, long flat-type seat, lengthy twin exhausts, golden-colored front forks, a USB charging socket, and a rounded headlight as well as mirrors. The bike packs a digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity, a full-LED lighting setup, and rides on wire-spoke wheels. It has a 16-liter fuel tank.
A detailed look at the Steve McQueen edition
Coming to Steve McQueen edition, only 1,000 units are up for grabs. Each bike sports individual numbering on the handlebar which also has Steve McQueen's signature etched on it. It sports a Competition Green shade paired with hand-painted gold lining, a Monza cap, and a stainless steel tank strap. A high front fender, engine guard, brown seat, and My Connectivity facility are also offered.
It runs on a 89hp, 1,200cc engine
The 2021 Triumph Scrambler 1200 is powered by a Euro 5-compliant 1,200cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The mill generates a maximum power of 88.7hp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 110Nm at 4,500rpm.
The vehicle comes with six riding modes
For the rider's safety, the 2021 Triumph Scrambler 1200 is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with single-button cruise control, cornering ABS, keyless ignition, traction control, and six different riding modes. Suspension duties are taken care of by Showa's 45mm inverted forks on the front side and Ohlins' fully adjustable twin shock absorbers on the rear end.
2021 Triumph Scrambler 1200: Pricing and availability
In the US, the 2021 Triumph Scrambler 1200 motorcycle carries a starting price-tag of $14,000 (approximately Rs. 10.5 lakh). The vehicle should make its way to India by Q4 of 2021 and will go against Ducati Scrambler 1100.
