Suzuki Hayabusa to be launched in India in Q2 2021
Suzuki will reportedly launch the 2021 Hayabusa in India in the second quarter of the year. It will be brought here as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit and unofficial bookings for the tourer have already started. As for the highlights, the all-new Hayabusa comes with an aerodynamic look and several new features. It draws power from a 1,340cc, 4-cylinder engine. Here's our roundup.
2021 Suzuki Hayabusa: At a glance
The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa sits on a twin-spar type aluminium frame and features a muscular fuel tank, a large pillion seat cowl, side panels with huge air vents, chrome-plated twin exhausts, a raised windscreen, and eye-catching graphics. The motorcycle packs a semi-digital instrument console and an all-LED setup for lighting. It rides on alloy wheels wrapped in Battlax S22 tires and weighs at 264kg.
Power and performance
In India, the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa will draw power from a BS6-compliant 1,340cc, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The mill generates a maximum power of 190hp and a peak torque of 150Nm.
Safety and suspension setup
To ensure the rider's safety, the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa is equipped with disc brakes on both the wheels, along with traction control, engine brake control, hill hold control, anti-wheelie control, cornering ABS, and three power modes. The suspension duties on the bike are taken care of by Showa's inverted telescopic forks on the front and link-type coil spring on the rear end.
What about the pricing?
The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa will be brought to India via Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route. It is expected to carry a price-tag of around Rs. 17-18 lakh, which is a significant premium over the predecessor's cost of Rs. 13.75 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom).
