2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan to be launched on February 10
Royal Enfield will launch the 2021 iteration of its Himalayan motorcycle in India on February 10. As for the highlights, the upcoming tourer will sport certain cosmetic changes and offer new features. However, it will retain the BS6-compliant 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as well as the 5-speed manual gearbox of the outgoing model. Here's our roundup.
2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan: At a glance
The 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan will sport a blacked-out circular headlamp casing, a black heat shield on the exhaust, a contrasting brown seat, a raised windscreen, and dual-tone paint schemes. It will house a semi-digital instrument console with support for Tripper Navigation, a halogen headlamp, and a bulb taillight. The bike shall ride on wire-spoke wheels and weigh around 199kg.
Power and performance
The 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan shall draw power from a BS6-compliant 411cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The mill should generate a maximum power of 24.3hp and a peak torque of 32Nm.
Safety and suspension setup
To ensure the rider's safety, the 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan will be equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels along with switchable ABS for improved handling on the roads. The suspension duties on the motorcycle will be taken care of by telescopic forks on the front side and a mono-shock unit on the rear end.
