2021 MG Hector CVT SUV launched at Rs. 16.51 lakh
British automaker MG Motor has launched a CVT automatic variant of the Hector SUV in India. The new CVT transmission is offered with the 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol motor and joins the existing DCT gearbox option. However, there are no other changes pertaining to the design, interiors, and features of the car. Here's recalling the MG Hector.
MG Hector: At a glance
The MG Hector has an eye-catching look, featuring a chrome-studded grille, a muscular bonnet with sculpted lines, silvered skid plates, and a wide air dam. On the sides, the SUV is flanked by silvered roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, and designer alloy wheels. For lighting, there are sleek LED headlamps with LED DRLs, cornering fog lamps, and LED taillights.
A peek inside the cabin
MG Hector has a spacious 5/6-seater cabin with a dual-tone dashboard, ventilated leather seats, ambient lighting, auto climate control, and a multifunctional steering wheel. It houses a 10.39-inch touchscreen infotainment console with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and i-SMART connectivity suite. There are six airbags, crash sensors, a 360-degree-view camera, and an engine immobilizer for passengers' safety.
Power and performance
The MG Hector is offered with three BS6-compliant engine choices: a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel mill that makes 167.7hp/350Nm, a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol motor that generates 141hp/250Nm, and a 1.5-liter petrol hybrid unit that also makes 141hp/250Nm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 6-speed manual, DCT, and a CVT gearbox. The CVT variant also offers Eco and Sport driving modes.
What about the pricing?
The 2021 MG Hector CVT (5-seater) starts at Rs. 16,51,800 for the Smart trim and goes up to Rs. 18,09,800 for the Sharp variant. For the 6-seater model, the CVT variants are priced at Rs. 17,21,800 (Smart) and Rs. 18,89,800 (Sharp).
