Maserati launches 2021 Ghibli in India at Rs. 1.15 crore
As its first hybrid car in India, Italian carmaker Maserati has launched the Ghibli sedan in the country at a starting price of Rs. 1.15 crore. It comes in four variants: Base, GranSport, GranLusso, and Trofeo. The 2021 Ghibli gets a few cosmetic design tweaks, an updated cabin with a 10.1-inch infotainment panel, and is offered with three engine options. Here's our roundup.
2021 Maserati Ghibli: At a glance
The Maserati Ghibli features a stunning design, with a sloping roofline, a chrome-finished vertical slat grille with the company's logo, a sculpted bonnet, a hands-free tailgate, and blue accents on the side vents and brake calipers. For lighting, it gets adaptive Matrix-LED headlights and boomerang-shaped taillights. On the sides, the car is flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, body-colored ORVMs, and designer alloy wheels.
A peek inside the cabin
Inside, the new Maserati Ghibli offers a dual-tone cabin with leather seats, a multifunctional steering wheel, and keyless entry. It also packs a revised 7.0-inch TFT digital cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with support for the latest connectivity options including Maserati's Connect connected car technology. For safety, it offers multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, crash sensors, and a parking camera.
Power and performance
The 2021 Ghibli comes with three petrol engine choices: a 2.0-liter hybrid unit that makes 325hp/450Nm, a 3.0-liter V6 motor that delivers 424hp/580Nm, a 3.8-liter V8 mill that produces 572hp/730Nm. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The V8 motor, available only on the Trofeo trim, offers a top-speed of 326km/h and allows the car to sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds.
How much does it cost?
In India, the Ghibli carries a starting price-tag of Rs. 1.15 crore for the base hybrid model and goes up to Rs. 1.93 crore for the top-tier Trofeo variant (both prices, ex-showroom).
