2021 Jeep Wrangler to debut in Unlimited and Rubicon variants
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler is being manufactured in India and shall be launched here on March 15. It will be available in Unlimited and Rubicon variants. As for the highlights, the car will have an off-road-friendly look and a spacious cabin with many features. It will draw power from a BS6-compliant 2.0-liter petrol engine linked to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Here are more details.
Wrangler Unlimited will feature a 7-slat grille
The Wrangler Unlimited variant will sport the company's signature 7-slat grille, rounded LED headlights with LED DRLs, a muscular bonnet, and a black bumper housing the fog lamps. It will be flanked by removable full-frame doors, ORVMs, body-colored flared fenders, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Vertically-positioned LED taillamps and a tailgate with a spare wheel mounted on it, will be available on the rear.
The Rubicon variant will be off-road focused
The off-road-biased Rubicon trim will have a 7-slat grille with contrasting accents, rock rails, black fender flares, 17-inch mud-terrain tires, an electronically detachable front sway bar, and a 'Rubicon' label on the hood. It shall also offer performance suspension, locking differentials, and an all-wheel-drive system.
The SUV will have a spacious tech-loaded cabin
The 2021 Wrangler will have a spacious cabin with 60:40 split-folding rear seats, dual-zone climate control, key-less entry, an Alpine stereo system, voice command and navigation, and a multifunctional steering wheel. It will house a 7.0-inch driver's display and an 8.4-inch touchscreen console with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For safety, multiple airbags and a rear-view camera should also be available.
It will run on a 268hp, 2.0-liter petrol engine
The upcoming Wrangler will draw power from a BS6-compliant 2.0-liter petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 268hp and a peak torque of 400Nm. The motor will be linked to an 8-speed automatic gearbox for handling transmission duties. In terms of performance, the SUV should be able to sprint from 0-100km/h in less than seven seconds.
2021 Jeep Wrangler: Pricing and availability
The pricing and availability details of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler in India will be announced at the launch event on March 15. As for the pocket-pinch, it should carry a premium over the outgoing model which starts at Rs. 63.94 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
