Honda launches 2021 Dio scooter in Japan
What's the story
Japanese automobile maker Honda has launched the 2021 Dio scooter in its home country.
Priced at JPY 2,22,000 (roughly Rs. 1.52 lakh), the scooter differs from the India-specific model in features and looks but shares the same 110cc engine. It also offers a digital MID in the instrument cluster and a remote key feature.

2021 Honda Dio: At a glance
The new-generation Honda Dio features a simple scooter design with a flat single-piece seat, a handlebar-mounted headlight, and LED DRLs on the apron. The blacked-out alloy wheels as well as exhaust muffler add some sportiness.
The scooter also offers an analog speedometer, a digital MID in the instrument cluster, and 18-liter of under-seat storage capacity.

What about the suspension setup?
The 2021 Honda Dio has telescopic forks at the front and a side-mounted mono shock absorber on the rear side. For the rider's safety, it is equipped with a disc brake on the front and a drum brake on the rear end.

Power and performance
Under the hood, the Honda Dio gets the same 110cc air-cooled engine as the India-specific model. The motor is capable of generating a maximum power of 8.5hp and a peak torque of 9Nm.
It also comes with a new remote key feature that allows the rider to remotely lock or unlock the scooter.

In Japan, Honda Dio has been launched at a starting price-tag of JPY 2,20,000 (roughly Rs. 1.52 lakh). It is available in four color schemes of Matte Galaxy Black Metallic, Pearl Jasmine White, Descent Silver Metallic, and Matte Stary Blue Metallic.
