Force Gurkha to be launched in India by May 2021
Force is gearing up to launch the Gurkha SUV as a rival to the Mahindra Thar. In the latest development, RushLane has claimed that it will be announced in India by May this year. As per the previous leaks and reports, the new Gurkha will come with rounded headlights, 16-inch wheels, all-black or dual tone interiors, and a BS6-compliant diesel engine. Here's our roundup.
It will have a tailgate-mounted spare wheel
The new-generation Force Gurkha will feature a boxy design with a single slat grille bearing the company's logo in the center, a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate, circular LED headlamps, a high-set LED stop lamp, and a roof carrier. On the sides, it will be flanked by a large rear window, blacked-out ORVMs, heavy black cladding, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
It will run on an 89hp, 2.6-liter engine
The 2021 Force Gurkha will draw power from a BS6-compliant 2.6-liter diesel motor that delivers 89hp of maximum power and 260Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The SUV will offer a touchscreen infotainment console
The BS6 Force Gurkha will sport an all-black or black-brown cabin with two side-facing jump seats in the third row, power windows, remote locking, and manual air conditioning. It will also pack a touchscreen infotainment console with support for the latest connectivity options. On the safety front, the SUV is expected to offer multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, and rear parking sensors.
2021 Force Gurkha: Pricing and availability
The official pricing and availability details of the 2021 Force Gurkha will be revealed at the time of launch, which is expected to happen by May this year. However, given the features, it is likely to be priced at around Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
