Triumph India postpones the launch of 2020 Street Triple RS
Amid the unprecedented coronavirus outbreak, Triumph India has postponed the launch of its much-awaited sports tourer, the 2020 Street Triple RS. The motorcycle was slated to go official on March 25 (today), but the launch has now been deferred until further notice. The updated bike, which debuted globally last year, complies with BS6 norms and comes with minor cosmetic tweaks. Here's our roundup.
Here's what 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS offers
The 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS sits on a twin-spar aluminum frame and sports an eye-catching naked-street look with a bold front fascia, featuring dual-LED headlamps with mounted DRLs. The motorcycle gets a stepped-up seat, a muscular fuel tank, and a sharper side profile with 17-inch alloy wheels. Moreover, it houses a fully-digital instrument console and has a fuel tank capacity of 17.4-liter.
Power and performance
The 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS is fueled by a BS6-compliant 765cc liquid-cooled engine that comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quick-shifter. The motor is capable of producing 123PS of power at 11,750rpm and 79Nm of peak torque at 9,350rpm.
2020 Triumph Street Triple RS: On the road
As part of the standard safety kit, 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking. The suspension duties on the sports tourer are taken care of by Showa's telescopic forks up front and Ohlins' mono-shock unit on the rear.
Finally, how much will it cost?
Triumph will reveal the official details of the 2020 Street Triple RS at the launch event itself, which may happen sometime next month. But, going by the reports, the sports tourer would be priced around Rs. 12 lakh in the country.
