2020 Triumph Rocket 3 to debut in India on December-5
Triumph Motorcycles is all set to unveil the 2020 edition of its flagship motorcycle, the Rocket 3, in India. The British automaker has confirmed that the powerful cruiser, which is available in two trims: R and GT, will be showcased in Goa on December 5, just a day before the commencement of India Bike Week. Here's our roundup.
A look at the 2020 Rocket 3
Both the R and GT variants of the 2020 Rocket 3 come with aggressive design featuring a naked street look with dual-LED headlamps, Triumph's latest TFT instrument panel with Bluetooth connectivity, and dual exhausts. Besides that, the GT model promises a more touring friendly experience, thanks to the comfortable riding position, adjustable footpegs and backrest for passenger, and a comparatively taller windshield.
Power and performance
The 2020 Rocket 3 is fueled by a 2,500cc liquid-cooled engine, which also happens to be the world's largest production motorcycle engine. The motor is capable of producing 165bhp of power at 6,000rpm and a gigantic 221Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. For transmission, it gets a 6-speed manual gearbox and a new torque assist hydraulic clutch.
What about safety features?
The 2020 Rocket 3 offers Brembo-sourced disc brakes on both wheels, along with cornering ABS and traction control. The motorcycle also gets several rider-friendly electronic aids such as five-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), four riding modes, keyless ignition, and hill hold control. To handle suspension duties, it houses Showa's telescopic forks up front and a monoshock unit on the rear.
And, what about pricing?
As of now, there is no word on the pricing of 2020 Triumph Rocket 3. However, considering that the updated motorcycle starts at GBP 19,500 (approximately Rs. 17.89 lakh) in international markets, we expect it to arrive at a similar price in India.
