2020 Skoda Superb spotted testing in India, launch imminent
Czech automaker Skoda is working to launch the 2020 edition of its premium sedan, the Superb, next year. In the latest development, a test mule of the upcoming car was spotted undergoing testing on Indian roads, revealing its key design highlights. Reportedly, the car will be offered with BS6-compliant petrol as well as diesel engine options. Here's all about it.
2020 Skoda Superb: At a glance
Going by the spy images, the updated Skoda Superb will come with an eye-catching sporty design and is likely to get LED matrix headlights with LED fog lamps and dynamic turn indicators. The car will also get diamond-cut alloy wheels along with chrome highlights around the windows and a chrome strip on the boot lid connecting the taillamps.
Inside the cabin
The details about the interiors of the car are scarce. However, we expect it to get a luxurious five-seater cabin loaded with hi-tech features. The car is likely to offer a fully-digital instrument cluster as well as a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with connected car features. Further, it could also get features like park-assist, three-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, and more.
A look at the powertrain
In India, the 2020 Skoda Superb is likely to be offered with BS6-compliant 2.0-liter petrol and diesel engines, mated to a six-speed manual or dual-clutch automatic gearbox options. However, in select international markets, the car is also available with a 1.4-liter petrol engine, paired with an electric motor. This combined unit churns out 218PS of power and promises an all-electric range of 55km.

According to reports, the 2020 Skoda Superb is likely to be launched in India by mid-2020. As for the pricing, it is expected to carry a slight premium over the outgoing model, which falls under the Rs. 26-31 lakh price bracket.
