2020 Skoda Superb to be launched on April 28: Report
Czech automaker Skoda is all set to launch the 2020 Superb in India on April 28, according to a report. The company is expected to announce the premium sedan through an online-only event as the prevailing lockdown in the country has been extended till April 28. To recall, the sedan had debuted in India at the 2020 Auto Expo. Here are more details.
A look at the 2020 Skoda Superb
The 2020 Skoda Superb gets an attractive design, featuring a new chrome-finished grille and revised bumper with chrome accents. The car also gets chrome highlights around the windows, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and indicator-mounted ORVMs. Apart from that, it houses new LED headlights with Matrix technology and LED fog lamps as well as taillights.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the 2020 Skoda Superb offers a luxurious five-seater cabin featuring a sunroof, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. The car also houses a fully-digital Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster, wireless phone charger, and a touchscreen infotainment panel with support for connectivity features. It retains the standard safety features of the BS4 model while offering a new 360-degree camera setup.
Power and performance
The 2020 Skoda Superb draws power from a BS6-compliant 2.0-liter TSI turbo-petrol engine that comes mated to an automatic 7-speed DSG transmission system. This motor is capable of producing 190bhp of maximum power and 320Nm of peak torque.
And, how much will it cost?
Skoda will announce the official pricing and availability details of the 2020 Superb on April 28 itself. However, going by the reports, the premium sedan is likely to be priced around Rs. 27 lakh. Once launched, it will take on the likes of Audi A4, Jaguar XE, Toyota Camry, and BMW 3 Series.
