Going by the official details, the 2020 Skoda Octavia will be comparatively longer and wider than the outgoing model. Separately, several spy shots have revealed that it would come with a slightly bigger grille and a triangular headlamp unit as against the split-headlamps on the previous-generation model. Also, it is likely to get an all-LED lighting setup for headlamps, indicators, and taillights.
What about interiors?
Inside, the fourth-generation Octavia is expected to offer a five-seater cabin with panoramic sunroof and a two-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. The car will reportedly house a digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, and a 10-inch infotainment system with connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moreover, it will get several driver-assist features like collision avoidance assist, blind spot detection, and fatigue warning.
Here's a look at the engine options
The 2020 Skoda Octavia will be available in multiple engine options globally including petrol, diesel, and even hybrid powertrains. However, the India-specific model will be offered with BS6-compliant 1.5-liter TSI petrol and 2.0-liter TDI EVO diesel engines, which are capable of producing 150PS of maximum power. Also, the car is likely to come with both manual as well as automatic gearbox options.
When will it come to India?
The 2020 Skoda Octavia is likely to make its debut in India at the 2020 Auto Expo, and is expected to hit Indian roads by the 2020-end.
