2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE to be launched in India in January
Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch the 2020 edition of its flagship SUV, the GLE, in India in January, according to ZigWheels. The upcoming car will come loaded with several luxurious as well as hi-tech features and will be available with three BS6-compliant engine options. Notably, the bookings for the SUV are currently live at a token amount of Rs. 5 lakh.
2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE: At a glance
The 2020 GLE offers a sporty look featuring a twin-slat chrome-finished grille with the company's emblem on the front. It also gets silver-colored front as well as rear skid plates and dual-tone alloy wheels. The car comes with indicator-mounted electronically adjustable ORVMs, roof rails, and chrome highlights surrounding the windows. Apart from that, the SUV houses dual exhausts and all-LED lighting setup.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE comes with a five-seater luxurious cabin with power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting. The car houses a fully-digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system which runs on in-house MBUX operating system. Furthermore, it offers seven airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera with parking sensors, and several other driver-centric features.
Power and performance
In India, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE will be available in three BS6-compliant engine options: a 2.0-liter diesel (GLE 300d), a 3.0-liter diesel (GLE 450d), and a 3.0-liter petrol (GLE 400). The former two are capable of producing 245PS and 330PS of power, respectively, while the latter churns out 367PS. Notably, all the aforementioned units come mated to a 9-GTRONIC automatic gearbox.
And, how much will it cost?
There is no official information regarding the pricing of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE in India yet. However, the report has claimed that the car will come at a starting price of Rs. 90 lakh and will be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo as well. Lastly, it will lock horns with BMW X5, Volvo XC90, and Audi Q7.
