Mercedes-AMG, the performance division of the German automaker Mercedes-Benz, has revealed the details of the 2020 edition of the GLA 45 compact SUV. The new car comes with a premium design, AMG-specific interiors, and packs a 2.0-liter petrol engine that is available in two states of tune. It can do a 0-100kmph sprint in just 4.4 seconds. The 2020 GLA 45 comes with a compact yet appealing look featuring a curved roof design, a vertical-slat grille with mounted company's emblem, and square-ish wheel arches. The car gets blacked-out wheel arches as well as side claddings, quad exhausts, and a rear spoiler. Moreover, it offers all-LED fitments for headlights, turn indicators, and taillamps.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the 2020 GLA 45 gets a five-seater cabin with power-adjustable sports bucket seats wrapped in leather, rounded AC vents, and an AMG-specific multifunctional steering wheel. The car houses a twin-display MBUX setup for instrument cluster and infotainment. Power and performance
The 2020 Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 387hp of maximum power in standard guise and 421hp in S tune. The motor comes mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all the wheels. Further, the car has a top-speed of 250-270kmph and it can do a 0-100kmph sprint in 4.4 seconds.
And, when will it arrive in India?
There is no official word on the availability of the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 in India yet. However, going by the reports, the performance-oriented SUV is likely to hit the Indian roads this year or in early-2021. The company is yet to reveal the pricing details of the car, but looking at its specifications, we expect it to be priced around Rs. 80 lakh.
