2020 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spotted testing: What has changed?
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the 2020 edition of its popular compact sedan, the Dzire, in India soon. In the latest update, the facelifted model has been spotted without camouflage, giving us an idea of the updated looks. Notably, it will arrive as a petrol-only offering, and is expected to house a petrol-hybrid powertrain. Here are more details.
A look at the 2020 Maruti Suzuki Dzire
Going by the spy shots, the 2020 Maruti Suzuki Dzire will come with a minimalistic design featuring a restyled front-fascia including an updated bumper, a bigger hexagonal-shaped grille, new fog lamp housings, and slimmer headlamps. The car will come with indicator-mounted ORVMs and blacked-out B-pillars. Apart from that, it would house new rear bumpers as well as restyled tail lamps.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Dzire will offer a five-seater cabin with fabric upholstery, power windows, auto-dimming IRVM, and a multifunctional steering wheel. The car will house a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with support for Bluetooth as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Moreover, it would retain the standard safety features of the outgoing variant.
Power and performance
The 2020 Dzire will reportedly be powered by a 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine, paired with a mild-hybrid system. The combined unit is capable of producing 90PS of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque. The company could also offer this motor in the standard guise i.e. without the mild-hybrid tech. Further, the car would be available with both 5-speed manual and an automatic gearbox.
And, how much will it cost?
Maruti Suzuki will reveal the official details of the facelifted Dzire at the launch event which is likely to happen in the coming weeks. As for the pocket-pinch, the car is expected to be priced similar to the pre-facelift version, which falls under Rs. 5.82-9.52 lakh price bracket in the country.
