2020 Mahindra XUV500: At a glance
Going by the spy shots, the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 is likely to be a seven-seater model, much like the outgoing variant. It is expected to come with a boxy look featuring a revamped front-fender design and restyled tailgate. Besides that, the car was seen with a sloping roof line, larger windows, revised ORVMs, and new flush-fitting door handles.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the seven-seater XUV500 will get a new three-spoke flat-bottom multifunctional steering wheel, a much bigger horizontal infotainment system, and a semi-digital instrument console. The car is likely to offer a sunroof, two-zone climate control, push-button start, and connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Furthermore, it should also offer safety features like driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, and more.
Power and performance
The 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will reportedly be powered by a BS6-compliant 2.2-liter diesel engine which is tuned to produce 180bhp of maximum power. For transmission duties, the car will be offered with both 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox options, which will send power to all the wheels via the AWD (all-wheel-drive) system.
Finally, how much will it cost?
The 2020 XUV500 will make its debut at the upcoming 2020 Auto Expo in February. There is no official word on its pricing yet but it is expected to come at a slight premium over the outgoing model which starts at Rs. 12.31 lakh. Once launched, it will be a direct rival to the Tata's upcoming seven-seater SUV, the Gravitas.
