India-bound 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 (sports bike) unveiled: Details here
Japanese automaker Kawasaki has unveiled the 2020 edition of its popular sports bike, the Ninja 650. The new model gets a revamped fairing design and a bunch of feature updates. However, mechanically, it remains the same as its predecessor. Meanwhile, the sports tourer is likely to arrive in India by early 2020 and is expected to come with a BS6-compliant engine. 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650: At a glance
The 2020 Ninja 650 sits on the same frame as its predecessor, but with a bunch of styling updates including a revamped fairing design and new graphics. The new model also gets updated set of electronics which include a new 4.3-inch full-color TFT panel with Bluetooth and GPS support. It also offers new LED headlamps and a more comfortable seating position.
Power and performance
The 2020 Ninja 650 is powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled, DOHC engine which is capable of producing 68PS of power at 8,000rpm and 65.7Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and promises a mileage of 25kmpl.
Here's a look at the safety and suspension setup
On the safety front, the 2020 Ninja 650 comes equipped with disc brakes on both wheels along with dual-channel ABS for better grip on the road. The motorcycle houses 41mm telescopic forks on the front side and a preloaded adjustable monoshock unit on the rear to handle the suspension duties.
And, what about pricing?
There is no word on the pricing of 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 as of now. But looking at the design updates and a BS6-compliant engine, we expect the motorcycle to carry a little premium over the existing model and cost somewhere around Rs. 6 lakh.
