If you were looking to buy the 2020 Hyundai Verna, you might have to wait longer. Hyundai India has indefinitely postponed the launch of the Verna (facelift) due to the 21-day lockdown imposed in the country to handle the coronavirus crisis. To recall, the car was unveiled earlier this month and it comes with a new design, BS6-compliant engines, and connected car technology.
However, the online bookings for the car are underway
Notably, the online bookings for the Hyundai Verna are live on the company's official website. The pricing details of the car are yet to be announced. However, reports suggest that the facelifted model is likely to fall under Rs. 8-14 lakh price bracket.

The 2020 Hyundai Verna comes with a stylish look featuring a coupe-inspired sloping roof design and an eye-catching front fascia with a chrome-finished grille and a muscular bonnet. The car has a sporty side profile with chrome highlights around the windows, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and indicator-mounted ORVMs. Further, it gets all-LED fitments for headlights, turn indicators, and tail lamps.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the 2020 Verna offers a five-seater cabin, with ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, a fully-digital driver display, and an electric sunroof. The car also gets a wireless phone charger and an Arkamys Premium audio system. Furthermore, it houses a new touchscreen infotainment panel with 45 BlueLink connected car features and an AI-based voice recognition system that can be activated by saying "Hello BlueLink".
Power and performance
The 2020 Verna is offered with three engine options: 1.5-liter petrol and diesel, and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol. The 1.5-liter units produce 115PS of power, with the petrol version offering 144Nm peak torque and diesel mill making 250Nm. The 1.0-liter turbo-petrol motor churns out 120PS of power and 172Nm peak torque. Moreover, the car is offered with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
