2020 Hyundai Verna launched, prices start at Rs. 9.31 lakh
Hyundai has officially launched the 2020 edition of the Verna in India. The new car is offered in both petrol as well as diesel engine options and comes at a starting price of Rs. 9.31 lakh. It boasts of a host of feature updates including BlueLink connected car technology, minor styling tweaks, and BS6-compliant engines. Here are more details.
A look at the 2020 Hyundai Verna
The 2020 Hyundai Verna offers a redesigned front fascia featuring a new chrome-finished grille, angular-looking LED headlights, a muscular bonnet, and wide air inlets. The car features a coupe-inspired sloping roof design with a shark-fin antenna, sharp-looking body lines, and chrome treatment around the windows, door handles as well as exhausts. It also houses indicator-mounted ORVMs and runs on diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin
The five-seater Verna comes with a spacious cabin featuring leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, and an Arkamys Premium audio system. It also gets a wireless phone charger and an 8-inch infotainment panel with BlueLink connected car technology. The sedan retains the safety elements of the outgoing model but gets additional features like tire pressure monitoring system and rear disc brakes.
A look at the powertrain
The 2020 Hyundai Verna is offered with three BS6-compliant engine options: 1.5-liter petrol, 1.5-liter diesel, and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol. The 1.5-liter petrol and diesel units churn out 115PS of power and 144Nm and 250Nm of peak torque, respectively. The 1.0-liter turbo-petrol mill, meanwhile, makes 120PS and 172Nm. Moreover, the car is available with both 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.

The petrol-powered variants of the Hyundai Verna start at Rs. 9.31 lakh for the entry-level S trim and go up to Rs. 13.99 lakh for the top-tier SX(O) Turbo DCT model. On the other hand, the diesel-based variants start at Rs. 10.65 lakh for the S+ model and go up to Rs. 15.10 lakh for the range-topping SX(O) AT trim.
