2020 Hyundai Verna breaks cover: What's new?
What's the story
After a bunch of teasers and leaks, Hyundai India has finally revealed the 2020 edition of its sedan, the Verna.
The new model comes with a bunch of cosmetic tweaks, BS6-compliant engines, and BlueLink connected car technology, similar to what we saw on the Hyundai Elantra.
Notably, interested buyers can pre-book the sedan at a token amount of Rs. 25,000.

A look at the 2020 Hyundai Verna
The 2020 Hyundai Verna sports an eye-catching look with a sloping roof design and a revamped front fascia that gets a new chrome-finished hexagonal grille, revised headlamp cluster, and new DRL design.
The car now comes with dual-tone alloy wheels and houses chrome-finished door handles, indicator-mounted ORVMs, a roof-mounted shark-fin antenna, and a sportier tailgate.

Inside the cabin
Inside, the 2020 Verna offers a five-seater cabin with ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, wireless phone charger, and Arkamys premium sound system.
The car houses a fully-digital instrument cluster and an updated touchscreen infotainment system with 45 BlueLink connected car features.
Interestingly, the sedan also comes with an AI-based voice recognition system that can be activated by saying "Hello BlueLink".
Engine
Power and performance
The 2020 Verna will be offered with three BS6-compliant engine options: 1.5-liter petrol, 1.5-liter diesel, and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol.
The former two are capable of producing 113bhp of power and 144Nm and 250Nm of peak torque, respectively. The 1.0-liter turbo-petrol, however, churns out 118bhp and 172Nm.
Furthermore, it is offered with a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox option.

Finally, what about pricing?
Hyundai is yet to reveal the pricing details of the 2020 Verna in India. But, looking at the updates, we expect it to carry a considerable premium over the outgoing model which starts at Rs. 8.18 lakh.
