#LeakPeek: 2020 Hyundai i20's interiors and cabin features revealed
Hyundai is gearing up to launch the third-generation model of its popular hatchback, the i20, in the coming months. In the latest update, the interiors and cabin features of the upcoming model have been revealed, confirming highlights such as ambient lighting, Bose audio, and wireless charging support for compatible smartphones. Separately, previous reports have already revealed the design and mechanical specifications of the car.
How will it look like?
The 2020 Hyundai i20 will come with an all-new design. It will feature a sporty looking front fascia, an updated hexagonal grille, sleek headlamps, and a redesigned bonnet with sculpted lines. The car will also get an eye-catching side profile with chrome highlights around the windows, blacked-out ORVMs, and new diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The car will get a futuristic cabin
Inside, the new-generation Hyundai i20 will come with an updated five-seater cabin featuring an all-new dashboard, wireless charger for compatible smartphones, ambient lighting, and an eight-speaker Bose sound system. It will house a new multifunctional steering wheel as well as a bigger 10.25-inch floating infotainment panel with BlueLink connected car technology. Furthermore, the hatchback will retain the standard safety elements of the current-generation model.
Power and performance
Under the hood, the 2020 Hyundai i20 will reportedly be offered with three engine options: a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol, 1.2-liter petrol, and 1.5-liter diesel. The former two are capable of producing 99bhp and 83bhp of maximum power, respectively, while the latter churns out 115bhp. Further, the car will be offered with both 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.
And, what will be the pricing?
Hyundai will announce the prices of the third-generation i20 at the launch event, which will happen in the coming months. However, looking at the updates, the car is expected to carry a significant premium over the current-generation model which starts at Rs. 6.5 lakh.
