2020 Honda Jazz to be announced soon: What to expect?
Japanese automaker Honda is all set to unveil the 2020 edition of its popular hatchback, the Jazz, at Tokyo Motor Show this week. The new car is likely to come with a bunch of design and interior updates as well as a hybrid powertrain. Notably, the fourth-generation model is likely to hit Indian roads by 2020-end or early 2021. Here's all about it.
First, here's how it will look like
The fourth-generation Honda Jazz will be built on the same platform that underpins the 2020 Honda City. The hatchback is likely to get a rounded design with revamped bumpers and a roof-mounted shark fin antenna. Moreover, it is said to house bulbous headlamps with DRLs, along with horizontal taillights that extend to the tailgate.
Inside the cabin
The details regarding the interior features of 2020 Honda Jazz are unknown as of now. However, we expect it to come with a feature-rich cabin that would accommodate five people. The car is likely to house a new steering wheel and a fully-digital instrument cluster along with an infotainment system. Further, it should offer features like climate control, cruise control, and a push-button start.
What about power and performance?
As for the powertrain, Honda might launch the 2020 Jazz with 1-liter, 3-cylinder i-VTEC turbo petrol engine for global markets. This unit is capable of producing 130PS of power and 200Nm of peak torque. However, the India-specific model is likely to come with BS6-compliant 1.2-liter i-VTEC and 1.5-liter i-DTEC engine options.
And, what about pricing and availability?
There is no word on the pricing and availability of the fourth-generation Honda Jazz yet. However, it is expected to launch in India sometime around 2020-end or early 2021. As for the pocket pinch, it is likely to arrive at a slightly higher price as compared to the current generation model, which currently falls under Rs. 7.45-9.80 lakh price bracket in the country.
