Honda launches CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports bike in India
Japanese automaker Honda has launched the CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports motorcycle in India. The off-roader, which is available in two variants - manual and DCT, comes at a starting price of Rs. 15.35 lakh. The bookings for the liter-class motorcycle are live, with the deliveries slated to commence from May this year. Here are more details.
A look at the motorcycle
The CRF1100L Africa Twin comes with an eye-catching look featuring a semi-faired design with split-type seats, an adjustable windscreen, golden-colored rim, and dual-LED headlamps with DRLs. The motorcycle comes with several off-road friendly elements including rugged tires, skid plates, and high ground clearance. It also houses a 6.5-inch TFT instrument panel with support for Bluetooth and Apple-carplay'>Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Power and performance
The Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin draws power from a BS6-compliant 1,084cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine which is capable of making 102PS of maximum power at 7,500rpm and 105Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. To handle transmission duties, the flagship off-roader gets a 6-speed manual gearbox or an automatic DCT (dual-clutch transmission) system (available on top-end DCT variant).
What about safety and suspension setup?
In terms of safety, the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports comes equipped with disc brakes on both ends, along with dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle also gets driver-friendly features like HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control), cornering ABS, wheelie control, and rear lift control for improved road handling. Further, it houses inverted telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock unit on the rear.
