2020 Honda City to come with Alexa support, suggests leak
Honda is set to launch the 2020 edition of its much-anticipated sedan, the City, in India once the COVID-19 pandemic situation comes under control. In the latest update, an Autocar report, citing a leaked brochure, has revealed the key details of the top-tier ZX trim, confirming that the car will come with several segment-first features like a LaneWatch camera and Alexa support. How will it look like?
The 2020 City ZX will sport an attractive look with a sloping roof design and a neat front profile featuring a sleek grille, all-LED headlamps, and trapezoidal air inlets. The car will also house wrap-around LED taillights and a segment-first LaneWatch camera mounted on the left-wing mirror; it will give a better view of the left side of the vehicle on the infotainment screen.
The car will come loaded with hi-tech features
Inside, the 2020 City ZX will offer a five-seater cabin featuring an electric sunroof, leather upholstery, a full-color TFT driver display, and a multifunctional steering wheel. It will also house an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with connected car technology, and will come with support for Alexa. Plus, it will sport safety features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, and hill start assist, among others.
Power and performance
The 2020 Honda City ZX will be offered with BS6-compliant 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engines mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or an automatic CVT system. The petrol engine will produce 121PS of power, while the diesel unit will generate 100PS.
And, how much will it cost?
There is no official word on the pricing and availability details of the 2020 Honda City in India as of now. However, going by the reports, the car is likely to fall under Rs. 10-15 lakh price bracket. Once launched, it will take on the likes of Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Volkswagen Vento.
