Amid the coronavirus outbreak, Japanese automaker Honda has postponed the launch of its fifth-generation City sedan in India. The much-awaited car, which was slated to be launched on March 16, will now hit Indian roads next month. Separately, the India-specific model of the sedan has been spotted, revealing a new alloy wheel design and beige-colored interiors. Here's everything to know.

A look at the 2020 Honda City
The India-bound 2020 Honda City will borrow its styling cues from the international-spec City that was unveiled last year. The car will come with a sporty look featuring a sloping roof design, a minimalistic grille, and restyled bumpers. The sedan will also get a new set of alloy wheels, chrome-finished door handles, and all-LED fitments for headlamps, turn indicators, and taillights.

Inside, the 2020 Honda City will come with a five-seater cabin featuring beige-colored leather seats, an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, and a multifunctional steering wheel. As part of the feature update, the new City sedan will get a bigger 8-inch infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Further, it would retain the standard safety features of the outgoing model.

The 2020 Honda City will reportedly be offered with BS6-compliant 1.5-liter petrol as well as diesel engines at the time of launch. However, the company may also introduce a petrol mild-hybrid powertrain at a later stage. The transmission duties on the car would be taken care of by a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.
