2020 Honda CBR250RR to be launched in July: Report
Japanese automaker Honda is working to launch the 2020 edition of its popular sports tourer, the CBR250RR, in July this year, according to a report. The updated motorcycle will not only pack a more powerful engine but also get a host of new features including a smart key system, slipper clutch, and bi-directional quick-shifter. Here are more details.
How will it look like?
The 2020 Honda CBR 250RR is likely to share its styling cues with the outgoing model. The motorcycle will feature a semi-faired design with angular-looking fairings, golden-colored alloy wheels, and exhausts. The sports tourer is expected to house a digital instrument cluster and all-LED fitments for lighting. Further, it will also get a smart key system for keyless ignition and security.
Power and performance
The 2020 CBR250RR will draw power from a 249cc liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quick-shifter. In its current state, this motor puts out 38PS of maximum power and 23Nm of peak torque. However, the updated model will churn out more power (41PS) than the outgoing model.
What about safety and suspension setup?
In the safety department, the 2020 Honda CBR250RR will come equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear ends, along with dual-channel ABS for improved braking efficiency. The motorcycle is expected to house conventional telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock unit on the rear to handle the suspension duties.
Will it come to India?
Going by the reports, the 2020 Honda CBR250RR is likely to come at a starting price of JPY 847,000 (approximately Rs. 5.84 lakh). However, considering the price-sensitive Indian market, the automaker is unlikely to bring the premium sports tourer to India any time soon.
